Isabelle Gellé, a French creative perfumer and perfumologist has been striving to make people rediscover the smells of Nature through classic and elegant perfumes composed of naturals since 2006.
Ahead of her time, she anticipated that consumers would want to return to the true soul of perfumes, made of natural ingredients only. She was one of the first perfumers to sell her collection of perfumes made with 100% natural aromatic oils online, to offer natural bespoke perfumes services to private clients and to deliver Introduction to perfumery workshops in the UK, leading the way to a form true luxury. Over the years, she has become recognised as an expert in making classic and authentic perfumes, using only high quality naturals.
Perfume making and beauty is in Isabelle's DNA. She draws her inspiration from the classic and natural perfumes of her distant ancestors Jean-Baptiste Augustin and Nicolas Willeborde Gellé who in 1826, purchased the perfume house of Jean-Louis Fargeon, who was perfumer to Queen Marie-Antoinette. They created the perfume and distillers' house, Gellé Frères. Their toiletry products and perfumes were very popular in the 1920's and were exclusively made of plants extracts and flowers distilled by them and sourced from faraway countries. Their perfumes won numerous awards in France at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Although the house became more confidential after WWII and has recently been revived with a more contemporary and youthful concept, Isabelle is following on the family tradition and honouring her ancestors, by keeping true to Nature itself as her main source of inspiration to bring you the experience of rare and ultimate all natural luxury without compromise.
TRUE Luxury
One source of inspiration for Isabelle's perfumes
Private individuals and corporate companies commission Les Parfums d'Isabelle to create or recreate the scents of Nature according to the traditions. All the creations respect the safety standards that have evolved over the centuries and comply with regulations. Equally, all are made with ecology and ethics in mind. Recycling and upcycling everything that can be recycled or re-used is part of the social responsibility of the company. Les Parfums d'Isabelle believes that avoiding waste is the true luxury today.
As a perfumer, Isabelle has developed a passion for aromatic tropical plants and spices. Part of her family roots are in Mauritius and Madagascar and her early career was as a country manager, buying and selling spices and green tea in Africa, she labels herself as 'a travelling nose' because she has experienced so many scent memories throughout her numerous travels. You will always find her visiting a distiller or a country rich with aromatic plants. Her focus is on the Art rather than the Science of Perfumery, creating a bridge between Ancient and Modern scents.
Isabelle holds a diploma in aromatherapy from Oxford College and is a qualified UK City and Guilds teacher in the vocational and further education sector. Early 2013, she launched the Perfumery Art School, the first vocational eLearning school teaching the Art of Perfumery to over 100 students from more than 40 countries worldwide.
