Isabelle Gellé, is a French creative perfumer who has been striving to make people rediscover the smells of Nature through classic and elegant perfumes composed of naturals since 2006.  Ahead of her time, she anticipated that consumers would want to return to the true soul of perfumes, made of natural ingredients only. 

She was one of the first perfumers in the U.K. to sell her collection of perfumes made with 100% natural aromatic oils online and to offer natural bespoke perfumes services to private clients. She is also the Founder and course leader of the Perfumery Art School UK, delivering eLearning certified courses and workshops in the Art of Perfumery since its launch in 2013 boasting over 300 students from 52 countries worldwide. Isabelle worked with prestigious clients such as Historic Royal Palaces, the London Transport Museum, The Qatar Foundation to name but a few.

Perfume making and anything beauty-related is in Isabelle's DNA. She draws her inspiration from the elegant natural perfumes of her distant ancestors Jean-Baptiste Augustin and Nicolas Willeborde Gellé who in 1826, purchased the perfume house of the then perfumer to Queen Marie-Antoinette -Jean-Louis Fargeon. They went on to create the perfume and distillers' house, Gellé Frères Paris. They became purveyors of perfumes to the Royal courts of Europe and their toiletry products and perfumes were very popular in the 1920's. Exclusively made of plants extracts and flowers distilled by them and sourced from faraway countries, their perfumes won numerous awards in France at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Although the house became more confidential after WWII and has recently been revived with a more contemporary and youthful concept, Isabelle is following on the family tradition and honouring her ancestors, by keeping true to Nature itself as her main source of inspiration to bring you the experience of rare and ultimate all natural luxury without compromise.

In 2017, a group of perfumer friends created a collection of 100% natural perfumes, inspired by a country they loved and worked around one main ingredient with a view to contribute to the protection of our beautiful planet. PARFUMEURS DU MONDE collection of olfactive tales was born, showing a new image of French perfumery, one that redefines or reinvents the tradition of perfumery and puts forward the vision that perfumers create Beauty but need to do so with ethics and ecology in mind. 

The beauty of the environment has to be protected and nurtured because it is where perfumers find their raw materials and draw their inspiration and for the future of our children. Thus, PARFUMEURS DU MONDE decided from the onset to give part of their sales to a Paris-based NGO, Coeur de forêt which supports reforestation projects in various countries such as Indonesia, Madagascar, Bolivia, France with the view to protect forests and their inhabitants and by educating farmers to grow in a more sustainable manner.

​As a perfumer, Isabelle has developed a passion for aromatic tropical plants and spices. Part of her family roots are in Mauritius and Madagascar and her early career was as a country manager, buying and selling spices and green tea in Africa, she labels herself as 'a travelling nose' because she has experienced so many scent memories throughout her numerous travels. You will always find her visiting a distiller or a country rich with aromatic plants. Her focus is on the Art rather than the Science of Perfumery, creating a bridge between Ancient and Modern scents.  Isabelle also holds a diploma in aromatherapy from Oxford College and is a qualified UK City and Guilds teacher in the vocational and further education sector.
