ANTI-AGING FEATURE: 9 EASY FACIAL YOGA EXERCISES

Everybody reckons that maintaining a healthy body through exercises is a good thing to age nicely. However, one part seems to be forgotten even in the gym: the face...

 

It is the most obvious part showing signs of aging and yet, some of us do not even treat it with the kindness it deserves. Unfortunately, when wrinkles and sagging appear, it is often too late to do something and putting tons of moisturising cream will not help at this stage although the few exercises below will help you prevent more collateral damages...

 

Why not start slowing down or controlling the aging process with those simple yet efficient yoga exercises specially targeting the face and neck?

You will only need 10 minutes everyday and you might be well surprised with the results after only 1 month! Besides, it is cheap: all you need is a MIRROR and you can use your personal time before or after your bath or shower to indulge yourself into a youth treatment...

FREE YOUR TONGUE 

 

Pull your tongue as far as you can. You should feel the muscles stretch around the mouth. It is recommended that you hold this pose for 60 seconds. It is good if your eyes water; that flushes the toxins that may have accumulated there.

 

 

 

 

TEMPLE DANCER EYES 

 

Roll your eyeballs several times clockwise and anticlockwise. This exercise works on the ring muscles of the eyes to prevent sagging skin and crow's feet.

 

SMILING FISH FACE

 

Smile while pursing your lips. This pose is modeled after the look celebrities often give the paparazzi.  

 

 

 

LION'S FACE, PART I

 

Inhale through your nose, make fists and squeeze all your facial muscles.. 

 

 

LION'S FACE, PART II

 

Now exhale through your mouth, stick out your tongue, roll your eyes up and open your hands. Repeat three times. This exercise stretch all your facial muscles and removes tension. Excellent to prevent sagging.

 

 

 

SATCHMO

 

Named for Louis Armstrong, this pose mimics the cheeks of a trumpet player 

 

 

 

 

 

MARYLIN

 

The repetitive puckering and blowing creates stronger, firmer lips 

 

 

 

 

 

BUDHA FACE

 

Close your eyes, relax and imagine a point between the brows. Hold for one minute or longer.  

 

 

 

 

 

NECK EXERCISE

 

Neck should not be neglected. To keep it toned, raise your chin towards the ceiling, shoulders backwards, keeping the spine straight. Slowly open and close your mouth like a red fish! Repeat 25 times. This exercise will also prevent sagging.
